Educational Assessment

Prior to commencing tuition I assess what is needed free of charge.

I ask some questions to gain an understanding of the students confidence and ambitions and also ask the student for an anotated copy of their specification / syllabus.

I then structure an individual study plan accordingly.

Hourly Tuition

Regular weekly lessons or one-off sessions closer to exam time. Tuition can improve understanding and allow practice of essential skills.

I can cover all the major exam boards for G.C.S.E. and A'Level Biology & Chemistry including AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL, WJEC

I am a very patient person and try very hard to give my students confidence. Lessons will be tailored to the individual student.

Extension work will also be set to assess the key concepts studied in a session.

 Revision Courses

Revision courses can be arranged for students retaking exams.  These can be done on an hourly basis throughout the year.

or

Intensive revision courses are also availabble during the Easter holidays each year. The can either be carried out in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.

Small Group Tuition

I can provide tuition for small groups of up to 4 students. Ideal for friends. This involves the same service as individual sessions. This is more suited for students that prefer collaborative learning or those that feel intimidated by one-to-one tuition.

Groups of friends welcome.

£40 per student/hour

Maximum group size 4.

Full AS or A2 Courses

I can provide  full AS and A2 courses over 2 academic years.  This is suitable for students that are being home schooled, for mature students or to support those following a distance learning course.

Complete curriculum delivery.   Includes planning, teaching lessons, marking of regular homework and exam preparation.

It should be noted that I do not run an exam centre, but can support you in finding a suitable centre in which to take the exams. Many schools and colleges are happy to allow external candidates to sit exams.

Full A' Level Courses

I am sometimes asked if it is possible to take a full A' Level (AS & A2) in one year.  It is possibly but it should not be taken lightly, there is a huge volume of work involved in A' Level Biology and Chemistry. I would only recommend this for students who have already demonstrated a high level of ability at this level of study.
